You may or may not have noticed that my radio blog is now featuring some songs by Jamie Cullum. If you haven't listened, do so. I think of him as Norah Jones with a penis, british accent and a little more upbeat outlook on things. Oh yeah, and a pretty messed up looking face. Though Jamie is not the sexiest UK export, he is pretty talented.
Now, I am not one for the posting of song lyrics in/as blog posts. But in one of Jamie's songs, Next Year, some of the lyrics really convey what I feel is the mantra of Twentysomethings (which happens to be the title of his album) Or at the very least, it's what I tell myself so very often.
Next Year
Things are gonna change
Gonna drink less beer
And start all over again
Gonna read more books
Gonna keep up with the news
Gonna learn how to cook
And spend less money on shoes
Pay my bills on time
File my mail away, everyday
Only drink the finest wine
And call my Gran every Sunday
Resolutions
Well Baby they come and go
Will I do any of these things?
The answer's probably no
