It seems college drinking is the new black. Well, for non-college students that is. Flipcup is insanely popular here in DC, and there are even kickball and softball leagues formed as fronts for Flipcup tournaments (ok, not really as fronts per se, but not too many people actually care about the sporting). Just last week a friend held a beer pong party. Not one to miss a trend, I reinstated the granddaddy of all college drinking - the Power Hour. Power Hours single handedly destroyed my GPA in college and forced me to spend 5 years getting a 4-year degree. Power Hours made me fail the same class twice. Power Hours killed my family....or not. But they did some damage, let me tell you. So I says to myself, "Self, you haven't been off-your-ass-trashed in a while. It's high time." Thus, the Power Hour.
About 10 people were originally inivited, but the thing kept growing and growing into this huge beast and about 40 people showed up. It was fucking insane to the max. And the craziest part was that all of this lasted no more than an hour and a half. People were in, drunk and out in the streets making asses of themselves by 10:30.
Look at all those damn whiteys. Me and my man Kevin were holding it down as the only black people there. Well, there was another black guy there at some point, but I think he might have just rolled in off the street, like I'm sure quite a few people did. But it really didn't matter, since we had ALL THE BEER IN THE WORLD. That fucking keg is still sitting in the hall, floating a pool of melted ice. It's been three days, so it's pretty fucking gross at this point, but who cares? I sure as hell don't.
And the most amazing thing about the Power Hour?... There were straight people there! Straight guys! Oh my Jesus. I didn't even know straight men existed. That isn't to say there weren't any flames burning, because obvs if I am hosting a party there will be rainbows and sparkles a-plenty. But its good to know that there are straight men in this world that don't mind getting sexually harrassed by drunk gays. I appreciate that. I really do.
